Many residents will already have had a chance to enjoy the new playground equipment at Harpers Recreation Ground. The new equipment was chosen by residents following an online consultation, launched by Cllr John Tonks from Ash Parish Council (APC). The consultation offered three designs with a view to installing new equipment with higher play value. The majority of residents chose Design A which is now open for children to enjoy.
The cost of the upgrade was met by APC reserves for renewal and maintenance, in addition to funding from GBC via the concurrent function grant scheme.
Play facilities at Harpers Recreation Ground
The play park now has three slides, four swings, a hammock and a variety of things to climb on.
Removed play equipment
The new equipment replaces the older equipment shown below, which was in need of refurbishment. The new equipment offers a greater variety of play to those who use it most.

Harpers Recreation Ground is located adjacent to the A323 Guildford Road, located near Curzon Restaurant and The Lion Brewery.
