Ash Parish Council Take Action on Fly tipping

Since the start of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, Ash Parish Council (APC) has seen an increase in fly-tipping, particularly at Coronation Gardens.  APC has been working with Guildford Borough Council (GBC) and its Joint Enforcement Team (JET to take action.  With evidence from APC’s CCTV cameras, the Joint Enforcement Team has issued 6 fixed penalty notices, all of which have been paid.  There are a number of other fly-tipping offences currently being pursued.

APC recognises that fly-tipping is still an issue within Ash and with the GBC Joint Enforcement Team,  we will continue to work with partners to identify offenders, and to take enforcement action.

There is absolutely no excuse for fly-tipping. It is a crime that has a profound effect on our environment and wildlife. It is completely unacceptable, and we will continue to use the enforcement powers available to reduce this illegal behaviour and keep Ash Parish clean.
