UPDATE 29/01/2025: Update This parking order is now delayed until the autumn due Ash Road Bridge works.
Surrey County Council (SCC) is planning to put a temporary no parking order along the A323 Ash Church Road. This means that vehicles will not be allowed to park, load, or unload at any time on both sides of A323 Ash Church Road, from the property line of “No. 75 Ash Church Road” to the property line of “No. 88 Ash Church Road”.
SCC has advised that this order is necessary for construction and improvement work that will take place over the next 18 months, starting on 1st February 2025. The no parking rule will be in effect 24 hours a day, but it will only apply when the relevant traffic signs are up. The works detail the removal and relocation of a new bus shelter in a new location, new bollards, higher kerbs, removal of layby to increase pavement, new road markings.
There are some exceptions: vehicles that must stop by law, those stopping to prevent an accident, or those stopped due to circumstances beyond the driver’s control are allowed. Also, actions taken with permission from a police officer or civil enforcement officer will be permitted during this time.
SCC also explained in the notice that disabled persons with a blue badge will not be exempt from this temporary no-parking rule
