Planned works:
Surrey County Council (SCC) Highways has issued advanced notice of the planned closure of Heathvale Bridge Road. The Towpath & Heathvale Bridge will be closed 8 January For approx. 6 weeks. The work is scheduled to be completed by Friday 29th March 2024.

Reason for closure
Surrey Highways has advertised that the works are required in order to undertake structural repair on the bridge. In the work description, it said “A Complete paint system to be redone due to failure causing corrosion of the steel components of entire bridge using fluoropolymer paint. This also includes the steel handrail. Installation of concrete infill on the end bridge deck as per as the standard design drawings. Replace brick on abutment shelf. As part of the overall works, the carriageway will be reinstated with HRA 35/14 type F.”
