Guildford Guildhall heritage Open Day

Guildford Guildhall heritage Open Day:

On Thursday 16 September 10:00- 16:00, the Guildford Guildhall will be open to the public as part of a series of Heritage Open Days. This Grade I listed building and scheduled ancient monument dates from 1550, with later alterations and additions. This 16th century building is of great historic interest and was formerly both a courtroom and council chamber. It is still a thriving part of the local community and used as part of civic life. The ground floor is of Tudor origin, with beautifully preserved panelling and the building houses the civic plate and many rare items, which are well worth the visit to see. The classical front of the building is most well know by the iconic bracket clock made in 1683. Access to the building also includes the balcony overlooking the High Street.
