Guildford Museum heritage open day:
From Thursday 16 September, the Guildford Museum will be open to the public as part of a series of Heritage Open Days. The public are being offered a free guided tour of the Museum buildings on Friday 10:30, however the building will be open from Thursday until Saturday. The Museum consists of a number of historic buildings linked together, The earliest dates from the 17th Center and is a grade II listed building. The museum has over 100,000 objects in its collection, including items illustrating local archaeology and history, needlework and toys, and items associated with famous people such as Lewis Carroll and Gertrude Jekyll. Enjoy a closer look at the fascinating objects with stories to tell about the people who made them, used them, or perhaps discovered them.
