The 2021 list has now been published, which includes local Ash Vale resident Mr Barry Underwood who has been awarded a MBE (Members of the Order of the British Empire) . The award states that this is credited for his role “Lately Head of Distribution Services, Vote Office, House of Commons.”

For services to Parliament, particularly during the Covid-19 Response and voluntary service to Football (Ash Vale, Surrey).

An MBE award can be given for all types of different achievements, but it is often given in recognition of community achievements or for a local “hands-on” service that has set an example to others.
