Each year Ash Parish gathers at the war memorial at the top of Ash Hill Road to remember those who have given their lives protecting this country. However, due to current government guidance this event cannot take place in its usual format and all residents are requested not attend the memorial at 11am on Sunday, 8th November.
As we must now consider other ways of performing the act of Remembrance, The Royal British Legion has come up with some great suggestions. Ash Parish Council (APC) would like to ask our community to use their creativity to commemorate Remembrance Day with a poppy window display much like the rainbow display for NHS and carers. Seeing these displays will give us all time to reflect and consider those who have and continue to put their lives at risk to keep us safe.
Once finished please take a photo and email it to events@ashpcsurrey.gov.uk and APC will put them online for the whole village to see. To get us started here are some printable ideas: Single Poppy, Triple Poppy, Single Poppy 2, Poppy Wreath, Lest We Forget 2020.
