Frimley Road Closure Planned for Gas Main Replacement Works

Frimley Road closure Ash Vale

Clancy, on behalf of the gas network operator, is set to undertake essential gas main replacement works on Frimley Road (B3411) in Ash Vale, resulting in a temporary road closure from 19 October 2026.

The proposed closure will affect Frimley Road between its junction with Lysons Avenue and Winter Close. Surrey County Council has issued a Temporary Traffic Order to allow the works to proceed safely.

The works are expected to take approximately seven weeks to complete, with working hours between 8:00 am and 11:59 pm. While the Order remains valid for up to 12 months, the closure will only be in place when the necessary traffic management signs are displayed.

A signed diversion route will be available via Frimley Road, Stratford Road, Lynchford Road, and Lysons Avenue, or the same route in reverse.

As Frimley Road is served by local bus routes, passengers are advised to check for any temporary diversions, altered stops or timetable changes before travelling. The closure may affect normal bus operations while works are underway. Journey planning and service updates can be found on the Stagecoach website: www.stagecoachbus.com/plan-a-journey.

Information for Residents and Businesses

Access to homes and businesses within the affected section of Frimley Road will be maintained throughout the works. Emergency service vehicles will continue to have access at all times.

Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will also be able to pass through the area safely.

Advance warning signs will be erected before the closure comes into effect to help residents and motorists plan their journeys.
