Double BAFTA Success for Ash Manor Students

Ash Manor BAFTA Young Game Designers finalists

Ash Manor School is celebrating an exceptional achievement after two students have been selected as finalists in the 2026 BAFTA Young Game Designers Competition.

Ben from Year 9 and Ben from Year 8 have both reached the final stage of the nationally recognised competition in the Game Concept category, placing them among the most talented young game designers in the country.

The BAFTA Young Game Designers Competition is one of the UK’s most prestigious competitions for aspiring game creators, attracting thousands of entries each year from young people aged 10-18. Following a rigorous judging process by industry professionals, only a small number of finalists are selected nationally.

Both students have successfully reached the final 10 in their category through their creativity, innovation and game design skills.

“This is a tremendous achievement for both students and a wonderful recognition of their talent, creativity and hard work. To have two students reach the BAFTA Young Game Designers finals in the same year is something we are incredibly proud of as a school.”

Agnes Bailey, Headteacher

“Game design combines creativity, storytelling, problem-solving and technical thinking. Both Ben and Ben have demonstrated exceptional imagination and commitment throughout the competition process. To be recognised by BAFTA in such a competitive national field is a remarkable accomplishment.”

Richard Dunham, Head of Computer Science

The success reflects Ash Manor School’s commitment to developing creativity and digital skills through its Computing curriculum and enrichment opportunities.

Ash Manor School told Ash Parish News the school community is proud of both students outstanding achievement and wishes them every success in the national finals.
