YOUTH CENTRE
This was built some years ago, presumeably intended as a place where our youngsters could gather, enjoy a variety of social, artistic or sport activities. It seems that this has been underutilised for many years – “Why is this?” you might ask…….
I suspect that a major part of the problem was that nobody (Surrey CC, Guildford BC or Ash PC) would fund a manager to oversee the whole activity.
There may be many more reasons why it has be under utilised, but in the mean time our children gather on street corners etc. & we wonder why many get involved with drug gangs.

Hi Charles Stokes, The center is used daily by the Surrey County Council to provide youth services.
Regarding an Open Access Youth Club of an evening, this did reopen shortly before COVID but has not resumed. There is currently a management committee formed, working on raising the funds and recruiting a part-time youth worker. The objective is to offer an Open Access Youth Club one day a week to start and grow from there.
The main barrier is funding at present.
