The 2022 festive season arrives in Ash

The 2022 festive season arrives

Today preparations for the 2022 festive season have been marked by the arrival of the Ash Christmas Tree. This is ahead of Ash Parish Council (APC) Fantasia event which is held in The Ash Centre. The centre will be full of Craft Stalls, Games, and tables representing charitable causes and local businesses, which is always a fun day out for all the family. The Rotary Christmas Float will also be collecting money for charity and playing Christmas classics for all.

The Ash Centre event opens at 12 pm and closes at 4:30 pm, after which festivities move to Wharf Road where a road closure will allow residents to gather and sing carols with the Ash Vale ensemble. Santa has been invited to turn on the village lights at 5 pm. Ash Wharf road will also be closed between 4 pm and 6 pm.

The event is free to enter and money raised by selling table stalls will be donated to Frimley Park Hospital.

Ash Christmas Tree

The Ash Christmas tree has historically been donated by the Surrey County Councillor for Ash, using their Member’s Allocation. Cllr Carla Morson has continued this tradition to ensure the festive season starts in style. The Christmas Lights are sponsored by Kia Dover Garage and powered thanks to Bridges Estate Agent.

Christmas card design competition

A craft table with pencils and paper will be available for all residents to draw and submit their own Christmas cards. These will be entered into the APC Christmas Card competition which closes on Saturday 3 December 2022.
