A Growing Club at the Heart of the Community
Ash United Youth Football Club (AUYFC) continues to go from strength to strength as it plays a vital role at the heart of the local community. With around 250 young players across 20 teams, the club offers a welcoming and supportive environment for children aged 7 to 15. As the club grows, AUYFC is actively seeking new players and volunteer coaches, particularly for next season’s Under 7s, to help ensure that every child in Ash and the surrounding area has the opportunity to enjoy grassroots football.
Strong Links with Ash United FC
The club enjoys a strong and long‑standing relationship with the main Ash United Football Club. This connection allows young players to take part in memorable matchday experiences, including the chance to walk out as mascots during home fixtures. It is a tradition that has become popular with players and families alike, reinforcing the club’s sense of togetherness.
First Girls’ Team Marks a Milestone Season
This season has also marked an important milestone for AUYFC, as the club launched its first girls’ team at Under 7s. Their introduction reflects the club’s commitment to inclusion and to expanding opportunities for young people who are discovering the game for the first time.
Where the Teams Play
Home matches are played at several local sites, including:
- The recreation grounds in Seale and Sands
- The Walsh School
- Harpers Recreation Ground in Ash
Most age groups take part in the North East Hampshire Youth League on Saturdays, while the Under 9 teams compete on Sundays in the Surrey Primary League.
Recruiting Players and Coaches for Next Season
With planning already under way for next season, AUYFC is particularly keen to hear from children currently in Year 1 who will be moving into Year 2 in September. These players will form next season’s Under 7 squad and take part in the new 3v3 format introduced for younger age groups. No experience is required, and the club welcomes children of all abilities.
The club is equally eager to hear from adults who may be willing to volunteer as coaches for the new intake. Full support and guidance will be provided.
Sponsorship and Community Involvement
As a community‑run club, AUYFC is always
grateful for the support of local residents and businesses. The committee would be pleased to hear from anyone who may be interested in sponsorship opportunities or in offering time and skills to help the club continue to grow. Although the previously vacant Chair position has now been filled, there are always ways for volunteers to get involved.
