Spring Tidy Up at Snakey Lane Community Wildlife Group on 1 March

The Snakey Lane Community Wildlife Group is inviting residents and conservation supporters to take part in its annual Spring Tidy Up on Sunday 1 March. The volunteer event will take place from 10.30 am to 3.00 pm and aims to help prepare the Snakey Lane wildlife area for the new season.

The event is open to anyone who would like to contribute to the upkeep of this local green space. No previous experience is required and all tools and training will be provided on site. Volunteers are asked to wear suitable outdoor clothing, as well as boots or wellies and gloves. Bringing waterproofs is recommended in case of rain.

Children under 16 can attend if accompanied by an adult. Participants should also bring their own refreshments for the day, as none will be supplied during the event.

The Spring Tidy Up is run with support from the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership. This collaboration helps protect and enhance the habitats around Snakey Lane, ensuring that the space continues to benefit both wildlife and the surrounding community.

Anyone wishing to find out more can contact the organisers at snakylane@gmail.com or through the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership via 01252 331353 or blackwater.valley@hants.gov.uk.

The Snakey Lane Community Wildlife Group encourages local residents to get involved in this practical and worthwhile day of volunteering.
