Planned Roadworks on The Street, Tongham (February–April 2026)

Surrey County Council (SCC) has announced a planned road closure on The Street in Tongham to allow essential repair and maintenance work to take place. The closure is scheduled from 9 February until 21 April 2026. The works will be carried out approximately 68 metres south of the junction with Lambourne Way, extending down to the parking bay. A vehicle diversion route will direct traffic via Oxenden Road to the North, and The Runfold Diversion to the south.

Scope of the Works

According to SCC, the planned works include the removal of the existing pedestrian crossing, installation of a new manual pedestrian crossing, installation of new pedestrian tables, resurfacing where required, tidying and clearing behind footways, and any necessary drainage works. These improvements are intended to enhance pedestrian safety and upgrade the local highway infrastructure.
