Public Meeting on Crime and Anti‑Social Behaviour in Ash

Sir Jeremy Hunt MP is inviting local residents to join Surrey Police at Ash Manor School for a public Q&A session focused on addressing rising concerns around crime and anti‑social behaviour in Ash and Tongham. The meeting comes in response to correspondence from community members seeking clarity and action on safety issues in the area.  This meeting aims to give the local Police Commander the opportunity to update residents on the issues of the moment.

In a statement, Sir Jeremy Hunt MP said:

“I have had lots of correspondence from Ash and Tongham residents about crime and anti‑social behaviour so have invited the police to a public meeting and Q&A. Please join me and Surrey Police on Friday 23rd January 2026 at Ash Manor School, Manor Road, Ash – starting at 18.30”

As MP for Godalming & Ash and formerly South West Surrey since 2005 Sir Jeremy has actively raised concerns previously. In March 2024, he convened a meeting with local farmers, Surrey Police, the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, and NFU representatives to combat rural crime and antisocial behaviour. At that time, community collaboration resulted in arrests, recovered goods, and strengthened relations between residents and law enforcement.

The upcoming meeting seeks to offer an open platform for residents to voice concerns directly to both their MP and local policing officials. Community dialogue is essential in shaping effective policing strategies.

This meeting follows the recent opening of Surrey Police’s Community Policing Hub in Ash, launched in September 2025. The hub, located in the heart of the parish, was designed to strengthen local engagement and provide a visible policing presence. It offers residents easier access to officers and advice on crime prevention. The Hub is located at the Ash Centre building, every Tuesday 12 noon – 4pm.
