Surrey County Council (SCC) is proposing a new 20mph speed limit on roads surrounding Shawfield Primary School in Ash. The scheme aims to improve safety for pupils and local residents. Residents and road users are invited to share their views by 15 December 2025 and may influence the final design. If the scheme moves forward, a statutory consultation will follow.

These plans are noted to exclude Shawfield Road and Ash Street. The roads being considered are as follows:

- Ewins Close
- Exter Road
- Grange Farm Road
- Longacre
- Longfield Road
- Manfield Road
- Murrell Road
- Salisbury Road
- Winchester Road
- York Road
Surrey County Council Said:
“Our public engagement is designed specifically to gain insight and feedback from residents and highway users on our proposals. All comments received during this initial stage are reviewed, considered and shared with County Councillors, helping shape the design and influencing the decision on whether the scheme should proceed.
Objections and comments are not replied to at this stage. If the scheme progresses, a statutory consultation will follow, where you are invited to object or make other representations. These objections and representations will inform the final decision, and anybody who objects will receive a response.
