Squires Garden Centres Launches 20,000 Bulb Community Giveaway

Squires Garden Centres has announced its “Love Where You Live” initiative, aimed at enhancing local communities by giving away 20,000 British-grown daffodil bulbs. This generous giveaway is designed to bring a splash of colour to neighbourhoods next spring, encouraging community spirit and beautifying green spaces.

The giveaway is open to community-minded groups located within a five-mile radius of any Squires Garden Centre. Eligible groups include community gardens, allotments, sheltered housing (non-commercial), hospices, hospitals, places of worship, and volunteer organisations dedicated to maintaining green spaces. Importantly, applications must be submitted by someone directly involved with the group, ensuring that the point of contact is familiar with the initiative.

Each successful applicant will receive a minimum of 320 daffodil bulbs, which will cover approximately five square metres. The final number of bulbs awarded will depend on the size of the proposed planting area. Squires Garden Centres aims to distribute the bulbs fairly across its 17 centres, ensuring that no private or commercial organisations benefit from this community-focused initiative.

The application process is straightforward, but interested groups must act quickly, as the closing date for submissions is 15 September 2025. Recipients will be notified and can expect to receive their bulbs between late September and mid-October.
