Parade & Service

The Parade is made up of local groups, governments, organisations & veterans who are connected with Ash Parish. The Parade leaves the Ash Centre 10:40 am and walks up the hill to the War Memorial at the top of Ash Hill Road. Churches together organise a service, which includes a two-minute silence at 11 am. Service sheets are available from the marshes in hi-vis. Ash Parish Council (APC) also provides digital copies to view or print on its website https://www.ashpcsurrey.gov.uk/events/remembrance-service-parade.  The Service consists of readings,  hymns & wreath-laying, together with music provided by Cove Brass Band.

Following the conclusion of the service, the parade will return to the Ash Centre. Residents and parade members are then invited into the Ash Centre for tea and coffee, organised by churches together with donations to charity. Also on display within the Ash Centre will be the Peace Day Poppy Wall describing the residential location of all the persons listed on the war memorial.

Veterans invited to participate

Former service personnel are invited to participate in the parade. There is limited space at the War Memorial, if you have not pre-registered please make yourself known to a marshal on the day before the parade leaves. APC recommends pre-registering via the Ash Parish Council office. The registration process is aimed at ensuring all needs and modes of access are catered for in advance of the parade.

Order of service

A printed order of service will be available to collect from the marshals at the Ash Centre Car Park & War Memorial. A QR code will be visible to obtain a digital copy via smartphone. Residents may also obtain a copy via the Ash Parish Council website here: https://www.ashpcsurrey.gov.uk/events/remembrance-service-parade/
