Community supports local family in time of need

Workers at the Nisa store in Tongham have set up a Just Giving page to help their colleague and their family in a time of need. This follows the tragic incident resulting in the loss of Lucy Williams, who left before her time. Generous donors have already exceeded the funding target of £3,500. In a subsequent post the Nisa Tongham team said “Absolutely blown away by the £4,000+ raised by the amazing community! Once again a huge thank you to everyone for supporting Steve and his family!”.

The organiser of this fund-raising appeal has asked that residents share and, if able, donate via

Just Giving: The Nisa Tongham Team

“We are raising funds to help our colleague and his family in their time of need. Steve is such a lovely member of our team and the community, always striving to help out whoever and wherever he can. On the 28th September, we tragically lost Steve’s daughter, Lucy, at a young age.

In this hard time we would like to help out by raising money to cover the costs of funeral expenses, a memorial to Lucy, and anything else the family may need in this difficult time.

We ask, kindly, that you consider donating any funds you can. If you cannot, then sharing around the community also helps the fundraiser branch out so other people can see it.

Rest in Peace, Lucy Williams. You will be missed dearly.

Thank you in advance to anyone who donates or supports,

The Nisa Tongham Team”
