GBC Food Waste Caddy Shortage

Food Waste Caddy Shortage

Food waste caddy shortage

The Ash Parish Council office has today confirmed that there is a food waste caddy shortage. Residents are temporarily unable to collected new waste caddy’s from the Ash Parish Council office. In response to the shortage, the Deputy Clerk, Alison Watmore stated that;

“We are sorry to say that Guildford Borough Council (GBC) are still waiting for a delivery. This means we do not have any at the Ash Parish Office to supply to residents. You can call us to add your name to a waiting list, and we will then call you once they are back in stock.”

Earlier this year Liz Mockeridge, Waste Policy and Development Manager for GBC,  communicated that there is a shortage of waste bins due to the global supply chain. This follows worldwide factory shutdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in lack of plastics to manufacture the bins. This is compounded by a lack of worldwide shipping containers and transport to move the materials and products for manufacture and supply.
