Dispersal Order extended by one month:

Surrey Police has today announced on the Guildford Beat (Surrey Police) Facebook site that it has extended the dispersal order for a month to continue tackling issues around anti-social behaviour in Ash. The Dispersal Order in Ash Wharf was first issued on 7th May 2021 and was due to end on 14th June 2021. The Dispersal order has been widely welcomed by the community, who continue to work with the police by reporting issues. In the announcement, the police advised that they have been working with partners in the area to find longer term solutions to tackle the issue.

This dispersal order has been extended in the same area for a further month, starting from today, between the hours of 2pm and midnight, in order to assist officers in addressing the issues around anti-social behaviour in Ash.

The dispersal order gives us the power to direct anyone committing crime or disorder to leave the dispersal area – this includes the belief that they may, or are likely to, harass or cause alarm or distress to anyone else.

Patrols have been increased and have been focused in this area during these times.The neighbourhood team has also been working closely with partners in the area to find a way forward and come up with longer term solutions to tackle the issue.

DISPERSAL ORDER:-ASH WHARF, ASH

15th June 2021 to 14th July 2021

Due to ongoing anti-social behaviour in the above area Surrey Police have decided to issue a dispersal order for the area above under Section 34 of The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

The order will be active every day between 1400 hours and midnight from the 15th June 2021 until 14th July 2021

During these times Surrey Police can direct a person to leave the designated area and not return for up to 48 hours, if they have reasonable grounds to suspect that the behaviour of a person in the area has contributed or is likely to contribute to members of the public in the area being alarmed, harassed or distressed or due to the occurrence in the area of crime and disorder.

Failure to comply with an order to disperse or returning to the area whilst excluded is a criminal offence.

A Police Officer may also return to their homes, young people under the age of 16 who are unsupervised in public places after 9pm.
