SSC overnight bridge repair: Aldershot Road A331 roundabout

A331 Roundabout

Planned works:

Surrey County Council (SCC) Highways has issued an advanced notice of overnight road closures for the Aldershot Road A331 roundabout from Friday 4 June 2021 for up to 2 weeks. This is to carry out repair works to the bridge that crosses the A331 and includes the joint replacement and waterproofing works. The sections of bridge on Aldershot Road will be closed overnight (8pm – 6am). There will be a signed diversion in place during their works, which will divert traffic north or south via the A331.

Access for pedestrians will be maintained.

Information to residents and Businesses

Working overnight on the Aldershot road A331 roundabout is necessary on traffic sensitive roads to reduce disruption during peak times. It also enables longer uninterrupted working before the closure must be lifted for daytime traffic, and results in a shorter period of disruption. There will be some noise, SCC will try to carry out the bulk of the noisiest works before midnight.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. SCC will make sure you can get to and from your house or business when it is safe to do. Please first talk to a member of staff on site if you need help as they can solve most issues.
