Surrey County Council (SCC) have issued and notice that Birch Way (D4040) in Ash Vale is to be temporarily closed on 25 March 21. Access will be retained via Station Road West and there will be no advertised diversion route.
SCC have stated that notice is required to allow carriageway patching and/or maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council along parts of Birch Way where it connects to Lysons Avenue. The closures will commence on 25 March 2021 for a period of up to 5 days however the works are anticipated to be completed within 1 day of this 5-day notice between the hours of 7am and 5pm.
There will be advanced warning signs, and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained when safe to do so.
