Statement from the Chairman of the Events working group, Cllr John Tonks

Ash Parish Council

Following the updated Government guidance for Remembrance Sunday:

The Local authority preparations for Remembrance Sunday guidance was lasted updated by the government on 5 November. Ash Parish Council Events working group has prepared the following advice having reviewed this guidance, which now succeeds the previous advice limiting the event to a maximum of 6 persons.

Please read the prepared Ash Parish Local authority preparations for Remembrance Sunday advice for Ash Parish residents and organisations. Please note that a recording of the proceedings on Sunday 8 November will be prepared and uploaded to the Ash Parish Website for Wednesday 11 November for those unable to attend.

The Remembrance Sunday event on 8 November as planned remains cancelled. This is due to current social distancing advice from the government with the support of the Royal British Legion. Residents are requested not to attend the memorial on the morning of 8 November 2020 and are advised that there will be NO road closure of Ash Hill Road.

Local organisations that normally parade have been contacted individually. A Teams meeting is arranged for Friday 6 November 6pm to discuss the final details within the Ash Parish Local authority preparations for Remembrance Sunday.

For any outstanding questions, please contact the Ash Parish Council office via email office@ashpcsurrey.gov.uk  or telephone 01252 328287. Additionally, Cllr John Tonks may be contacted directly out of office hours.
