Several residents have contacted the Ash Parish Council office to report fallen trees within the canal. Jon Green (Senior Ranger) at the Basingstoke Canal Authority has confirmed that “The trees self-felled during the very wet and windy period we had a few weeks ago.” In order to clear the tow-paths these trees were cleanly cut at the trunk. The trees were then placed in the water until they were later collected by the canal authority.
The Basingstoke Canal Authority do an amazing job keeping the tow-path clear for all whom use it, and I am sure all would echo my thanks to them for their speedy response.
